Blueprint Ensemble Arts is thrilled to present the 27th Portland Sing-Along Messiah
on Sunday, December 22 at Westminster Presbyterian Church
(1624 NE Hancock Street)!
Join everyone in singing through all the chorus of the masterwork (and more!),
with conductors and a fabulous organist!
Originally held at Central Lutheran Church, the Portland Sing-Along Messiah has been
an annual tradition that went on hiatus during the shutdown,
but is now back to stay!
Bring your own score, or borrow one from us!
Doors will open at 2:30pm, and singing begins at 3:37pm!
So join us in the amazing community event,
and a Portland tradition!
With special thanks to the Twietmeyer Family!

FAQs
How long will the Sing Along last?
No more than two and a half hours. We will be singing primarily choruses only. Singers generally stand to sing the choruses and are seated while the readings (and the one or two solos) occur.
Do I need to bring my own score?
If you have one, that would be great! But we also have loaners available.
Will there be a break?
Approximately halfway through we will take a short break for people to get water, use the restroom and have some small snacks
(though, as a singer, it is always a good idea to bring your own water bottle).
How will you arrange people in the sanctuary?
We will post signs showing where, generally, each part — soprano, alto, tenor, and bass — sit. But it’s ultimately up to you to choose where you would like to sit.
How early should I arrive to get a seat in my section?
We expect the sanctuary to fill, so coming early is probably a good idea!
Will there be entertainment while we wait to begin singing?
Absolutely! Carolers from Blueprint will be present to perform while we all await the sing-along to start!
Where should I park?
The Church has a parking lot to the north, between 16th and 17th on NE Hancock that you can use. You can also park in the neighborhood.
The church is one block north of NE Broadway, between NE 16th and NE 17th.
Can I use the entrance on Northeast 17th?
No, that entrance will not be open. Please use either the entrance mid-block on NE Schuyler, or the one close to 16th on Northeast Hancock.
Is there handicap access to the front door and restrooms?
Yes, the entrance on 16th and NE Schuyler is handicap accessible. The restrooms are handicap accessible also.
Is there Transit that I can use?
Bus number 8 (Jackson Park/NE 15th) and bus number 17 (Holgate/Broadway) come close to Westminster Presbyterian. The Max Red, Blue and Green lines all stop at Lloyd Center and NE 11th. The church is just one block north of NE Broadway between 16th and 17th. But, of course, check the TriMet map, just to be sure!
Can I bring a child?
It’s a relatively long event, so know the capacity of your child to sit through a long event, of course. But, also, if they enjoy music, they are welcome.
Will there be a 2026 Sing Along Messiah?
Yes! It is scheduled for December 20, 2026, hopefully at Westminster Presbyterian again.
